Established in 1992 with one doctor, the Rapid City Community Health Center (RCCHC) expanded as it gained community support. By 1997, after moving to 504 E. Monroe Street and joining Rapid City United Way, RCCHC launched the Healthcare for the Homeless Program. Between 2003 and 2008, RCCHC, now known as the Community Health Center of the Black Hills (CHCBH), opened two more clinics and its first school-based health center at General Beadle Community School. In 2010, CHCBH started constructing a larger facility, which opened on November 9, 2016, offering comprehensive services. In 2020, they introduced the IRIS Clinic for LGBTQ+ youth, and in 2021, a new outreach clinic at OneHeart Campus. The organization rebranded as Complete Health Center to better represent its service to the Black Hills community.
