The Big Amish has taken over the baseball world. Heck, there’s already a Big Amish T-shirt that has been produced and was distributed to the lockers of several players inside the Athletics clubhouse at Sutter Health Park on Monday afternoon.

Athletics rookie first baseman Nick Kurtz won his second consecutive AL Player of the Week award, MLB announced Monday, to no one’s surprise.

Nick Kurtz on Friday put together one of the best games in MLB history. His great nickname trended on social media in conjunction with the big game. Kurtz went 6-for-6 with 4 home runs in the Athletics’ 15-3 win over the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park in Houston,

Kurtz keeps his family and girlfriend off Instagram, where he focuses on baseball photos. On the field, though, his girlfriend, parents and siblings were in the stands to watch him get his first hit as a Major Leaguer, according to the Bee. They even got some air time on television, as his father gestured in an animated fashion.

Both slugging first basemen began their careers with the Athletics, and are off to eerily similar starts to their big-league careers. Who holds the edge?
