A suspect in the assassination of a Minnesota state lawmaker and her husband has been captured following a massive manhunt involving federal, state, and local authorities.
The suspect, identified by authorities as Vance Luther Boelter, 57, was arrested after state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were shot and killed, and State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were shot multiple times and wounded in Brooklyn Park and Champlin, two neighboring suburban cities 10 to 20 miles outside Minneapolis.
A former appointee of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is being sought in connection with the assassination of a state lawmaker and the shooting of another, police sources said.
A suspect was arrested in connection with threats made against state lawmakers who planned to attend Saturday's "No Kings" protest at the Texas Capitol in Austin, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
