Gaza Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Wednesday rejected US President Donald Trump's declared wish to see Palestinians from Gaza move to “safer” locations, including Egypt or Jordan, saying this would amount to “an act of oppression”.

Palestinian Hamas thanked the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-sisi for rejecting any proposals or steps to displace people in the Gaza Strip or transfer them to any party under any pretext, said the group’s spokesman Hazem Qassem in a statement.

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi asserted on Wednesday that Egypt "cannot participate in the injustice of displacing the Palestinian people."
