The Richmond County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that one person has died after a shooting on Broad Street Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, later identified as Quincy Clay Fields, 41, of Augusta was pronounced dead at about 4 p.m. at Wellstar MCG, noted Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen. An autopsy has been scheduled. The sheriff’s office arrested Victor Prince,

Augusta, Ga (WFXG) - The Richmond County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies were called out to a shooting on the 700 Block of Broad Street on Jan. 8, at 3:23 p.m. Deputies located a male victim who had been shot at least one time in the chest. The victim was taken to the hospital where he later died due to his injuries.
