Anthem will be taken offline for good, another game people cannot play even though they paid for it. A consumer movement is trying to help.

As of right now, EA has removed the ability to purchase premium currency in the game, and it's scheduled to be delisted from EA Play next month, on August 15. Players who already own the game - or who purchased it before that August date - will still get to play it before its closure in January.

They then went on to confirm that Anthem would be removed from EA Play on August 15, 2025, and that this decision did not lead to any layoffs at Bioware. Unfortunately, there have been layoffs at the studio for different reasons. Namely, EA announced layoffs this January after the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
