As fires rage in California, Musk announced that SpaceX will supply free Starlink terminals to impacted areas in Los Angeles.

United Airlines says in-flight Wi-Fi through Starlink will eventually be available on all United flights on seat-back screens and personal devices.

Billionaire Elon Musk is looking to carve out a role in Italy's telecommunications system by expanding his aerospace business Space X and satellite broadband venture Starlink.

“SpaceX will provide free Starlink terminals to affected areas in LA tomorrow morning,” Musk said in a post on social media site X. Local media reports said that several news agencies were already using Starlink in the area, due to disruptions in cell services from the wildfires.

The massive wildfires at the plush towns of California's Los Angeles, housing celebrity residences, has killed five people, burnt down thousands of structures and evacuated thousands. The developments prompted outgoing US President Biden to cancel his last foreign trip.
