Jurors in the Eric Thompson murder trial must now decider whether or not the convicted murderer will receive life in prison with or without parole. Following yesterday’s guilty verdict, the trial is now in its second phase,

Thompson’s first trial in 2023 ended in a mistrial when the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict. This time around, the jury found Thompson guilty of murder in the second degree. He was also found guilty of a firearm charge. Shortly after the verdict was read, the state’s motion to revoke bail was granted and Thompson was taken into custody.
