Another surge of arctic air and freezing temperatures will arrive on Monday into Tuesday. The Houston area is projected to see temperatures as low as 26 degrees late Monday and 24 degrees on Tuesday,

New week in Houston is going to be very cold and windy with a high chance for either sleet, ice or areas of snow.

Long-range models indicate the chance of another arctic blast early next week, which could bring the coldest air so far this season.

A cold front on Saturday will drop temperatures for the Houston Marathon and Half-Marathon but the real challenge will be the winds.
