Five Norman Rockwell works of art go up for auction Friday with the proceeds going to compensate thousands of survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

Works from the Boy Scouts of America's art collection, including some paintings by Norman Rockwell, will go up for auction to help compensate tens of thousands of people, mainly men, who were sexually abused while in scouting.

Over the span of six decades, the Irving-based Boy Scouts of America commissioned dozens of pieces from the artist Norman Rockwell. This Friday, four of his paintings will be auctioned by Dallas’ Heritage Auctions to raise money for the Boy Scouts’ settlement fund, which is tasked with compensating survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

The first batch of artwork from the Boy Scouts of America's collection raised over $3.7 million at auction Friday to help pay the compensation owed to those who were sexually abused while in scouting.

The 25 works offered up by Heritage Auctions on Friday are among over 300 from the Boy Scouts that will be sold at auction over the next few years.
