According to arrest warrants, a man punched another man outside of a bar causing him to fall backward and hit his head on the sidewalk.

Greenville Police said a suspect was arrested in a death investigation downtown. The Greenville County Coroner said they were called to 128 N. Main Street on Sept. 18. in reference to a man found unconscious on the sidewalk.

A man died hours after being punched to the ground and striking his head on the sidewalk outside of downtown Greenville's City Tavern. A suspect is in custody.

A man is dead after being assaulted in Downtown Greenville. Police responded to North Main Street in front of City Tavern around 2AM, Wednesday.
