Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor didn't want to let anything slip when asked about USWNT star Naomi Girma's reported transfer

The transfer agreement is for $1.1 million, according to The Athletic, the highest fee ever commanded for a transfer in the women's game. Girma, 24, was under contract with the Wave until 2026. She drew interest from French club Lyon and Arsenal in the Women's Super League.

In 1979, Trevor Francis became the first English footballer to command a £1 million transfer fee when he moved from Birmingham City to Nottingham Forest. 46 years later Naomi Girma is set to make the first million-dollar transfer in women’s soccer history.
