Onkyo has had streaming amps in the past, but like many recent Onkyo products, they were a reskin of the equivalent Pioneer ones. These new devices are designed to reestablish an identity for the company and hearken back to its hi-fi components of the 1970s and '80s in particular.

Onkyo says the Creator Series is “tailored for discerning music lovers, digital content creators, musicians, and gamers,” with DSP technology that “effectively manages the dynamic range to reproduce every detail, from rich bass to clear mid- and high-range sounds.”

There are two Creator Series models coming – both made for desktop or bookshelf use. And, in addition to larger drivers and more volume, the larger of the two also includes HDMI ARC for connecting to your TV or separate AV amplifier. The two models are called Onkyo GX10DB and Onkyo GX30ARC respectively.

For CES 2025, Onkyo is showing its own powered speaker option, the Creator Series, which features two models, the GX10DB and GX30ARC, both of which come as a paired set. Just as with most powered speaker pairs, one speaker provides Bluetooth and physical source connectivity and sends audio signals to the second speaker via an interconnect cable.

Besides a brand new Icon Series of hi-fi separates, Onkyo has taken the opportunity at CES 2025 to launch a budget range of desktop powered speakers, for those who want convenience and don’t want to spend a fortune to get their audio fix.
