Subaru will announce 2025 Forester Hybrid prices and official fuel economy ratings closer to when the SUV goes on sale. It will compete with hybrid versions of the Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-50, and Toyota RAV4.

Featuring a 194-hp hybrid powertrain, the first gas-electric Forester gets considerably better fuel economy than the nonhybrid.

In terms of style, the Forester Hybrid will be available in an exclusive new exterior color, Daybreak Blue Pearl, as well as a contrast Crystal Black Silica roof (for certain colors). It also gets HYBRID badging on the fenders and power rear gate. High-durability, animal-free StarTex® interiors will also be available on select trim levels.

In its second year of production, the sixth-generation Forester is finally taking that quantum leap from straight-ICE to an optional battery-hybrid.

Under this new setup, Subaru says the Forester Hybrid delivers 40% better fuel economy in the city and up to 25% in combined city and highway driving, delivering a range of up to 935 kilometers on a single tank of fuel. As for its EV range, expect to only roll in silence for short distances as the lithium-ion battery’s capacity is only 1.1 kWh.

Forester has officially gained two new trim packages. The rugged Wilderness trim package is back, seen previously on the last-gen Forester and on other Subaru models such as the Outback and Crosstrek.
