Napier's time leading the Gators is running out, but questions have emerged over who ultimately decides on the replacement

It ended up with the Trojans hiring Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley, but only because he lost the Bedlam game against Oklahoma State and lost all consideration for a top-tier bowl game.

An alleged UF Board of Trustees meeting certainly won’t take Billy Napier off the hot seat at Florida. But the fan base may not see its head coach walk out the door as soon as they’d thought based on Florida's track record of firing coaches mid-season.
