Andrew Taake, 36, of Texas, was just released from federal prison where he was serving time for attacking officers during the insurrection.

A federal judge on Wednesday sentenced former Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey to 11 years in prison in his bribery case. A jury convicted Menendez in 2024 on 16 felony counts. CBS News political reporter and attorney Katrina Kaufman has the details.

Andrew Taake, 36, was released from a federal prison in Colorado on Jan. 20, despite a request from the Harris County DA's Office to hold him on a pending state warrant from 2016.

According to a review of public court records and confirmed by the Houston district attorney’s office on Monday, Taake is still considered “at large” for the alleged 2016 crime of soliciting a minor online under 17 years old with the expectation that the individual “would engage in sexual contact” with him.

Andrew Taake, who pleaded guilty to attacking the police outside the Capitol, was just released from prison. He is being sought for charges in 2016 of soliciting a 17-year-old online for sex.

A Jan. 6 inmate freed by Trump’s blanket pardon is wanted in Texas for soliciting a minor for sex. The 36-year-old suspect was let loose in Colorado.

According to court records, the 36-year-old Houston man is now wanted for an online solicitation charge of a minor.
