Officials across the triad are taking action as frigid temperatures could potentially bring hazardous conditions.

Faulkner county officials starting the road preparations for the possibility of several inches of snow all in an effort to ensure safe travel for residents.

With potential wintry weather over the weekend, crews are getting ready just in case. Starting Wednesday night, a contractor with the Georgia Department of Transportation will be brining major roadways like I-20 and Bobby Jones Expressway as part of their response to the wintry weather threat.

Before the weather system’s arrival, crews will apply a brine solution to interstates, state routes, bridges and overpasses in anticipation of freezing rain, sleet, ice, and snow.
