Notre Dame Fighting Irish head coach Marcus Freeman will avoid criminal charges after he was accused of battery over an incident at a wrestling match.

Notre Dame Athletics is denying any physical contact occurred between head football coach Marcus Freeman and a New Prairie High School wrestling coach.

Notre Dame backed Freeman in a separate statement, calling the accusations “unfounded.”
