The Lorain County Coroner's Office has identified the suspect involved in the ambush shooting that left three Lorain police officers wounded on Wednesday. The suspect, Michael Parker, 28, of Lorain, was pronounced dead at the scene after the shooting.

The gunman accused of ambushing three Lorain police officers had previously been cited by the officer killed following a 2022 crash.
Two officers, Phillip Wagner and Brent Payne, were shot several times. A third officer, Peter Gale, was shot in the hand.
Police Officer Brent Payne, who was shot in Lorain while on a lunch break with fellow officers, was released from the hospital on Saturday with a police procession.
Prior to the announcement of Wagner's death on Thursday, DeWine spoke with 3News sister station 10TV in Columbus about the ambush shooting against Lorain police.
