The National Hurricane Center is tracking two systems in the Atlantic basin, including a new one moving into the Gulf.

Tropical Storm Erin has become slightly stronger in the open Atlantic and will likely be a hurricane later this week.

Tropical Storm Erin formed in the eastern Atlantic Ocean on Monday, forecasters said. The storm could strengthen to become the Atlantic's first hurricane of the season.
