The Minnesota Twins have acquired infielder Kody Clemens from the Philadelphia Phillies. Clemens, the 28-year-old son of seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens, was designated for assignment by the Phillies on Wednesday.

Less than 24 hours after Luke Keaschall suffered a nondisplaced fracture of his right forearm, the Twins acquired utility man Kody Clemens from the Phillies in exchange for cash considerations on Saturday morning.

Clemens got only one at-bat through the season’s first 14 games. The move comes five days after the team designated him for assignment to open a roster spot for Weston Wilson.
