There is a major trade update involving the Golden State Warriors and their interest in the Miami Heat's Jimmy Butler.
Butler was informed at shootaround that he would come off the bench behind Haywood Highsmith in this game, which prompted Butler to walk out of shootaround. From there, the Heat suspended Butler “indefinitely,” a story broken by Shams Charania of The Athletic and since confirmed by the team.
But in this new trade idea, the Warriors get a little wild and drastically change their rotation. Golden State would move on from Draymond Green and bring in another All-Star-level player. The Warriors aren't likely to move Green but it's certainly interesting to think about.
Butler has been the face of Miami’s team since arriving in the summer of 2019 via a trade from Philadelphia, helping the Heat make two NBA Finals appearances. He has previously made waves on his way out of Chicago and Minnesota in trades and is averaging 17 points in 25 games so far this season, his lowest average in more than a decade.
