An 84-year-old man was killed and his wife seriously injured when a dump truck crashed into their Missouri home, authorities say. Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers said the 70-year-old dump truck driver traveled off the side of an Owensville road around 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, before striking a utility pole, parking post and tree.

It's unclear what caused the woman to stray from the roadway, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, law enforcement reported.

The report states the 56-year-old woman was traveling westbound in a UTV when she went off the right side of the road and overturned. The woman was then thrown from the vehicle. She died at the scene. According to MSHP, she was not wearing a seat belt. This is the fifth fatal crash of 2025 for Troop E.
