Sometimes bigger really is better. At CES 2025, home entertainment manufacturer Hisense debuted a whopping 116-inch TriChroma LED television that takes up more wall real estate than a Jackson Pollock.

If you don’t think Hisense is ready to compete for the title in 2025, they put everyone on notice this morning with the introduction of the 116-inch TriChroma LED TV (116UX), which could be the first consumer model to use RGB Local Dimming Technology if released this year.

The words 'sleek' and 'elegant' are often used to describe modern TV design, but Hisense has earned those terms with the 116UX.

For some people, there’s at least more of a chance of actually owning the also-new 116-inch TriChroma LED TV. That’s because, at its core, this is still a Mini LED set. But Hisense has developed a new local dimming system that it calls “RGB Local Dimming Technology.” The key benefit here seems to be color vibrance:

Hisense will deliver a consumer-ready micro-LED TV in 2025 with a 136-inch screen size. Its mini-LED TV lineup will also expand with a 116-inch model – the largest yet from any TV maker, at the time of writing – that uses RGB backlight tech for enhanced color gamut coverage.
