Police say they are looking into an incident at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in central Berlin’s Mitte neighborhood on Friday that left one man “seriously injured by an unknown person.”

The police said they had detained a suspect in the assault, which occurred among the labyrinth of concrete slabs at one of the German capital’s most sacrosanct sites.

Police arrested a man suspected in a stabbing attack Friday at Berlin’s Holocaust Memorial that left a Spanish tourist seriously injured, police said.
