Rather than remove Mayor Eric Adams, Governor Kathy Hochul plans to propose legislation that would require City Hall to operate within new guardrails.

The governor said she’s seeking to limit Adams’ authority in City Hall.

Experts say it’s far from clear how would play out. The closest it’s come to happening was nearly a century ago when Gov. Franklin D. Roosevelt launched a trial against Mayor Jimmy Walker, who subsequently resigned and moved to Europe to avoid criminal prosecution.

The Trump administration is moving ahead with its plan to kill New York City’s congestion pricing – a controversial program designed to help raise millions in critical infrastructure funding.

Gov. Kathy Hochul insisted that the cameras crucial to the toll structure will remain in operation. "The cameras are staying on," she said.

New York became the first city in the U.S. to implement congestion pricing, with funds s set to fund much-needed repairs to the MTA.
