South Korea's opposition-controlled National Assembly voted to impeach acting President Han Duck-soo, further deepening the country's political crisis.

South Korean lawmakers have impeached acting President Han Duck-soo on Friday. The National Assembly Speaker, Woo Won-shik, made this announcement on Friday. He said the acting president actively participated in the insurrection after his predecessor declared martial law earlier this month.

South Korea has voted to impeach its acting president Han Duck-soo, two weeks after parliament voted to impeach its President Yoon Suk Yeol. Some 192 lawmakers voted for his impeachment, more than the 151 votes needed for it to succeed.
