The Houston Rockets thrashed the Golden State Warriors 131-116 to fend off elimination in the NBA playoffs on Wednesday, narrowing the gap in their Western Conference series to 3-2.Thirteen teams have rallied from 3-1 down to win an NBA playoff series.

Two Western Conference teams faced elimination, down 3-1 in their first-round series. One series will move to a Game 6, while the other came to an anticlimactic end.

The 2025 NBA playoffs continue Wednesday with a pair of Western Conference Game 5s. First, the Houston Rockets (-4.5, 204.5) return home and aim to stave off elimination from the Golden State Warriors. Then, the Los Angeles Lakers (-6.5, 209.5) try and keep their season alive against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The regular-season rivalry wasn't very much of a rivalry, as the Celtics won all four matchups. Boston won the first three games by 23, 27 and 13 points, respectively, before taking the final showdown, 119-117, in overtime back on April 8 in New York.
