A 23-year-old man faces attempted murder and assault charges after he allegedly pushed another man onto New York City subway tracks as a train approached, police say.

The suspect ran away but authorities said they had a man in custody who was being questioned. A woman who died after being set on fire on a New York City subway train this month has been identified, according to police.
