ANN ARBOR, MI - Santa Ono’s temporary successor comes from within the University of Michigan community. Domenic Grasso, the chancellor for the Dearborn campus, was selected as the university’s interim president, officials announced Thursday, May 8. The decision came after a closed meeting by the Board of Regents.

The University of Michigan board of regents on Thursday named Domenico Grasso as the university’s interim president, effective immediately. Grasso, chancellor of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, will succeed UM's current president, Santa Ono, who announced his plan to leave this summer to lead the University of Florida.
