Social Security will no longer let people change bank information by phone, alleging the practice is behind direct deposit fraud.

The Social Security Administration said Wednesday it is eliminating telephone service for direct-deposit account transactions. The agency said the move is meant to eliminate the risk of fraud associated with changing bank-account information by telephone.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Thursday that Ukraine saw Turkey as a partner in security guarantees for his country, and added that Kyiv was ready to ratify a free trade agreement between the states.

Turkey has emerged as a key potential partner in restructuring European security, diplomats and analysts say, as Europe scrambles to bolster its defence and find guarantees for Ukraine under any forthcoming ceasefire deal urged by the United States.
