"For May, the entire region will experience above-normal temperatures and rainfall," The Old Farmer's Almanac says. "Much of Kentucky, southern Illinois and Indiana, and neighboring areas will begin April with below-normal temperatures and precipitation, while it will be normal elsewhere."

For more than 200 years, the Farmers’ Almanac has been providing long-range weather predictions. This year, it says winter will linger, but when spring finally arrives, it'll be full of thunder and zing.
