With Tesla stocks plunging, owners rushing to sell their vehicles, and protests against Elon Musk's car company growing, it's been a bad time for Tesla and its Trump-supporting CEO. And on Tuesday, The Late Show host Stephen Colbert used his monologue to break it all down.

Stephen Colbert said President Donald Trump tried to help billionaire DOGE sidekick Elon Musk with a White House stunt that the “Late Show” host slammed as “a car commercial on government property.” Trump bought a Tesla at the event, although he admitted he can’t actually drive it. Turns out he can’t actually say it, either.

Stephen Colbert has zero respect for Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Neither, he argued, do many Americans. “Turns out, randomly firing a lot of Americans isn’t that popular,” Colbert explained in his monologue Thursday.
