BAR HARBOR, Maine (WABI) - One person was killed Monday morning after a canopy collapsed at a Bar Harbor hotel. The Bar Harbor Fire Department, Bar Harbor Police Department and Mount Desert Island Police Department released a joint statement Monday about the incident.

BAR HARBOR, Maine (WABI) - Crews battled a house fire in Bar Harbor on Sunday. The Bar Harbor Story reports a building with two condominiums on Stephens Lane caught fire shortly after noon. The publication says neither homeowners were there at the time.

A person was killed in a structure collapse in Bar Harbor this morning. It happened at the Bar Harbor Regency Hotel just before 7. A joint statement from the Bar Harbor Fire Department and the Bar Harbor and Mount Desert police departments says a large canopy collapsed.

Authorities say the large overhang by the hotel's entrance collapsed, trapping a man underneath. First responders were able to free the man from the rubble, but he died of his injuries.
