Flames from a wildfire which has already burnt 20,630 acres of land in California could be seen raging directly above one of its airports. The skies above Santa Paula Airport were black with smoke in footage taken from the runway.

A raging wildfire threatened an airport in southern California as firefighters scrambled to contain the inferno. Footage shows the Mountain Fire tearing through the hillside near the privately owned Santa Paula Airport on November 6 evening.

Now covering over 20,000 acres the blaze has grown significantly over the past day. It is so far only five percent contained and has destroyed 132 structures.
