CNN’s Ed Lavandera is on the ground in Texas as volunteer search and rescue teams look for those still missing after floodwaters swept through the Guadalupe River area.
On Thursday at 12:36 p.m. the NWS Raleigh NC issued a flood warning valid from 1 p.m. until Friday 8 a.m. for Johnston County.
A "considerable" flash flood warning has been issued in Boston as heavy, life-threatening rain pounds the city and areas to the south.
The warning is in effect until 9 a.m. for Boston and several communities south of the city, according to the National Weather Service.
Recent historic flooding has devastated communities in central Texas, and a flash flood in eastern Oklahoma forced a summer day camp to evacuate. For many, the possibility of flooding in one's community is now top of mind.

Jeff Wilson was a teacher in the Humble ISD.
