The summer's first round of heat alerts could be issued for Houston and Southeast Texas by the regional National Weather Service office, especially with humidity-driven heat index values expected to soar to dangerous levels above 100 degrees.

The rest of this weekend, we're looking for afternoon high temperatures to range from around 95-100 inland and near 90 along the coast.
