Over 100 medals from the 2024 Paris Olympics have been returned to the Monnaie de Paris after athletes have proven instances of deterioration since the Games ended in August, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday.

Olympic organizers say only a handful of medals from the Games last July and August have been returned due to damage. The French portal La Lettre reported that more than 100 medals had been sent back by athletes after organizers promised that any medal with unusual wear and tear would be replaced.
