The 17-year-old has passed his medical ahead of a £200,000 move to Liverpool, with Arsenal now considering alternative targets to strengthen their academy team. One target is England Under-17 international Igor Tyjon, currently at Blackburn

Liverpool had looked like they were the frontrunners for the striker’s services about two weeks ago when they offered £100,000 plus add-ons, but it appeared like they were going to miss out when Arsenal entered the race and offered £250,000 plus major add-ons for the League Two striker.

The club have secured the signing of young striker Will Wright, 17, one of the standouts at Salford City. The deal was confirmed by the Merseyside outfit and came as a surprise, as the favourites to sign the player had been Arsenal.
