President-elect Trump has promised to address double taxation of U.S. citizens living and working overseas. On December 18, 2024, Congressman Darren LaHo od introduced legislation, "Residence Based Taxation for Americans Abroad Act" (H.R.10468).

ACA has members living in nearly 110 countries and has several Country Chapters that serve to informally bring together Americans living overseas who want to share their experiences, issues and concerns and to make these issues known to ACA for policy formulation purposes.
