There was also a April edition, used as a proof-reading draft. An original 1897 will set you back about 2 grand. Mine is a 1986 reproduction. I also have an 1895.

To completely nut shell it, you highlight articles in the table of contents with green, then go thru in green for the articles within their chapters. Then blue for "Parts", and yellow for frequently used which of course would be subjective.

Nfpa Link gives you access to every NFPA document- building codes, fire codes, etc and it is only accessed online. The cost is $100 a year which imo is not that bad.
